And you think I push the limits?

An interview by Dr. Val with Dr. Michael Shabot, Memorial Hermann Hospital System’s Chief Medical Officer. Bottom line: "If a hospital won’t reveal their quality and safety statistics, then I think patients should ask their doctor to admit them somewhere else."

I moved to Houston in 2000 and I don't recall ever hearing that Memorial Hermann had posted their clinical data.

Chris, it's here on their website (and has been since 2003): http://www.memorialhermann.org/qualityreports/default.aspx

I also interviewed Nancy Schlichting about Henry Ford's quality initiatives. Pretty inspirational.

Of course Nancy and Michael said that Paul Levy was leading the pack and was their "role model." :) I kid you not.
